It is noted that many sites require the use of natural or synthetic erosion control material to ensure a stable soil surface to accommodate seed germination. This article provides generic designs, and installation guidelines for three erosion control product types, specifically, mats and blankets, roving, and soil-confinements systems. Natural and synthetic mats and blankets are described, as well as roving, a method of erosion used in drainages, slopes, etc. Soil-confinement systems generally consist of a series of honeycomb-like cells formed into a spreadable sheet or blanket.
