MCTRANS - NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY RESOURCE

McTrans (Microcomputers in Transportation) was established in 1986 by the Federal Highway Administration to serve as resource for the distribution and support of microcomputer software in the transportation field. McTrans represents all functional areas under the FHWA and UMTA (Urban Mass Transportation Administration). McTrans produces and distributes quarterly newsletters, software catalogs, and periodic bulletins to keep its members informed about the software they are using and about new programs becoming available. Its publications and cosponsorship of conferences are noted. McTrans has assumed responsibility for several packages developed by its parent, the Transportation Research Center. Also, it is establishing arrangements with software developers and other agencies to provide software maintenance for other software.
