CURVED DIAPHRAGM CELLULAR COFFERDAMS

The use of curved rather than straight cross walls in diaphragm cofferdams makes the cells independently stable, eliminating the major disadvantage of diaphragm cofferdams. Examples are illustrated in the paper. Increasing allowable stresses in sheet pile interlocks ans manufacture of additional sections of sheet piling with thinner webs are encouraged. /ASCE/
