METHODOLOGY FOR THE CONTROL OF NOISE POLLUTION. PROSPECTS OFFERED BY ANTINOISE VEGETATION

METODOLOGIE PER IL CONTROLO DELL'INQUINAMENTO ACOUSTICO. PROSPETTIVE OFFERTE DALLE PROTEZIONI VEGETALI ANTIRUMORE

This article describes a programme of sound level measurements, which included traffic and weather data as well as geometric (slope and section) measurements. The study, developed on the road network managed by the societa Autostrade, was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of vegetation barriers as noise screens. Objective data was obtained on the characteristics of plants and the noise attenuation achieved in function with the geometric characteristics of the road. Results are presented in tables and diagrams.
