SAVED BY THE BELT?

In this article, a road safety programme, started in June 1985, in the state of Maryland, United States is described. The 'Saved by the Belt' club, consists of survivors of road accidents, and its members promote seat belt use in their community. The club was established prior to state enforcement of seat belt legislation in July 1986. Guidelines are given by the Maryland Committee for Safety Belt use on how to establish such a programme.
