EVALUATION OF COSTS AND SERVICE BETWEEN COASTAL CENTRES- THE MODAL CHOICE DECISION
The objective of this report is to identify and quantify major cost and service factors of road, rail and sea transport through the use of an interactive transport cost mode. Although the model incorporates country wide average cost and service characteristics, it is designed such that these cost and service parameters can be easily adjusted to reflect individual conditions. It is thus a powerful tool for the critical evaluation of the costs and of services provided by competing modes of transport. (A)
