RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IN PLANNING CHOICES
IL RISPETTO DELL'AMBIENTE NELLE SCELTE PROGETTURALI
Following a review of the interactions between highway planning and the air pollution around the infrastructures, the authors present the results of a comparison between certain mathematical diffusion models and some surveys carried out on an Italian state road in 1987. Some considerations are presented on the alignment and gradients to be adopted for planned roads, as well as some possible environmental improvement measures for infrastructures already in service.
