AXIAL/FLEXURAL BEHAVIOR OF REINFORCED CONCRETE SECTIONS: EFFECTS OF THE DESIGN VARIABLE

A refined modeling technique was used for axial/flexural analysis of reinforced concrete (RC) column and beam cross sections. The analytical predictions were compared with test results, and an anlytical study was performed on the sensitivity of RC element axial/flexural repsonse characteristeics to the variations in longitudinal steel ratio and yield strength, concrete compressive strength, transverse steel ratio, and the rate load application. The results are expected to help desingers optimize in section variables in axial/flexural design procedures.
