SURFACE TREATMENTS TAME DUSTY UNPAVED ROADS

The application of dry or liquid calcium chloride to control visual mechanical and respiratory hazards associated with dust is described. The eight main dust control agents in use are calcium chloride, magnesium chlroide, lignin sulfonate, natural brine, processed brine, surfactants, and water. The way in which these should be applied is summarized. The steps involved in road treatments are described.
