STYRENE-BUTADIENE LATEX-MODIFIED CONCRETE: THE IDEAL CONCRETE REPAIR MATERIAL?
The criteria for ideal concrete repair material are noted, and a comparison is made of these with styrene-butadiene latex modified concrete. The criteria considered are as follows: compatibility with cement; availability; easy mixing; workability at low w/c; quick curing; adhesion; relative self-curing; resistance to water and gas penetration; modulus of elasticity; and cost effectiveness. LMC's potential for achieving these criteria are good. Case histories and field reports are described.
