COMPUTER AIDED EQUIPMENT SELECTION FOR CONCRETE PLACING
A prototype integrated computer system has been developed to assist in planning and controlling concrete placing operations. The system can give assistance in the making of complex managerial decisions. The system attempts to give a precise understanding of the methods of analysis and decision making in concrete operations, and arranges knowledge gained into a form capable of advising on the most appropriate methods of concreting and equipment selection for different job conditions. The system attempts to link external programs to the system capable of calculating the cost of utilzing resources to arrive at the most economical combination. The results of a test case study are encouraging.
