VARIABLE AMPLITUDE LOAD FATIGUE, TASK A - LITERATURE REVIEW. VOLUME II - CONSTANT AMPLITUDE FATIGUE BEHAVIOR. INTERIM REPORT

This is a multi-volume series. The other volumes of the series are Volume I (FHWA/RD-87/059) and Volume III (FHWA/RD-87/061). Each volume is self-contained. Some material, such as basic data and references, appear in more than one volume as the researchers felt that such duplication was desirable so that each volume could be read separately, without the reader having to refer to the other volumes. This volume discusses constant amplitude fatigue behavior related to highway bridges. It describes the development of the present AASHTO fatigue provisions and presents graphs summarizing the fatigue data on which they are based. Volume I describes the traffic loadings that affect fatigue behavior and the response of bridges to these loadings. Volume III discusses variable amplitude fatigue behavior and gives graphs summarizing test results that show the effects of various parameters.
