DESIGNING URBAN CORRIDORS

This report examines some of the fundamental land-use planning and policy issues involved in corridor area planning and design. There are five chapters: (1) The Impetus for Corridor Planning and Regulatory Activities; (2) Improving the Appearance of Commercial Corridors; (3) Land-Use and Site Planning Standards for Urban Corridors; (4) The Preservation and Protection of Scenic Corridors; and (5) Recommendations for Corridor Planning and Design. An appendix contains sample corridor development standards.
