SELECTING BUS ROUTES FOR COMPETITIVE BIDDING

The objective of this paper is to outline the impacts and options that should be considered in the selection of bus routes for competitive bidding. In the first two sections, cost and labor considerations are discussed. These sections are followed by a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the concentration/dispersion strategies for selecting bus routes and a brief discussion of timing issues.
