EVALUATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF PROCESS DEFECTS ON THE STRENGTH OF ELEMENTS OF WELDED STRUCTURES IN LOW-CYCLE LOADING

Welding process defects may be a source of fatigue cracks in low-cycle loading. all these defects may be categorized into two main groups--i.e., defects of rounded from such as gas cavities, and defects comprising cracks, non-fusion and slag inclusions. Two different approaches are suggested to evaluate the influence of these defects on the cyclic strength of welded structures.
