SOUTHERN IOWA REGIONAL TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FY79. STATE PLANNING AREA XIV

State of Iowa Planning Area XIV is located near the south central portion of Iowa and is composed of the counties of Adair, Adams, Clarke, Decatur, Ringgold, Taylor, and Union. The seven counties cover 3,445 square miles and had a 1970 population of 61,847 persons. The rural nature is characterized by small scattered cities and a population density of 18.0 persons/square mile. This plan, prepared by and for the local officials and citizens of Southern Iowa, consists of the following sections: (1) Introduction; (2) Existing Conditions; (3) Regional Transit Agency Composition; (4) Objectives, Sub-objectives; (5) Five Year Program; (6) Optional Transit Planning Activities; (7) Summary and Conclusions; (8) Supplemental Grant Application Materials.
