DEVELOPMENTS IN MOTORCYCLE HELMET TESTING AND THEIR EFFECTS ON FUTURE DESIGNS

This paper discusses the present status of motorcycle helmet standards and analyzes the modifications in the standards which have emerged within recent months. These factors are put into perspective by means of a review of the needs of the motorcycle helmets and the standards which have been developed to meet the needs. The necessity for an evaluation of the helmet's effect on accident avoidance is presented. /Author/
