THE ANALYSES AND MODELING OF IRREGULAR WAVES
The digital computation of the spectral density from a record sampled at equally spaced time intervals is discussed together with requirements placed on the collection of data by such an analysis. Two methods of producing wavemaker command signals are next described; (1) by a summation of discrete cosine components, (2) by excitation of a filter network by 'white' noise. A digital computer program which calculates the spectral density is included.
