MEASUREMENT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF NOISE AROUND VEHICLES

MESSUNG DER GERAEUSCHENTWICKLUNG VON KRAFTFAHRZEUGEN IM NAHFELD

As part of the protection of the environment the development of noise from motor vehicles has to be controlled. However, the internationally established procedures for carrying out this control are too complicated and expensive for simple checks. It is therefore necessary for this purpose to adopt simple, local measuring procedures. Procedures of this sort are described and the results obtained with them are compared with the procedures for measuring noise which already exist. The problem even in this case is that A simple method of measurement with a stationary vehicle should enable conclusions to be drawn on the results of vehicle noise measurements. It is shown that by means of simple local measurements it is possible to carry out series of checks of vehicles with sufficient accuracy and reasonable expense. For this the established limit values have to be allowed a corresponding greater tolerance. The covering abstract for the conference is IRRD no. 208556. /TRRL/
