CONSIDERATIONS ON A MATHEMATICAL METHOD OF STUDYING DYNAMIC EFFECTS ON A GIRDER SUBJECTED TO A MOBILE LOAD

NOTE SUR UNE METHODE MATHEMATIQUE D'ETUDE DES EFFETS DYNAMIQUES DANS UNE POUTRE SOUMISE A UNE CHARGE MOBILE

Mathematical expansion on dynamic effects in a railway bridge as brought about by the displacement of a load at constant speed. The method of finite difference was applied to the case of a homogeneous girder, and the kinetic energy theorem used to assess the solution adopted. The aim of the study was to show that, by disregarding the mass of the wheels and of the vehicle axle, it is possible to have an approximation of the solution of the problem by means of the Galerkin method.
