DYNAMIC WEIGHING OF MOTOR VEHICLE AXLES

One of the necessary inputs for designing new highways or overlays to existing pavements is accurate axle load data of traffic which they will carry. The use of dynamic weighing to obtain this information, and the accuracy that can be expected, is described. A number of available dynamic weighing equipments are briefly reviewed. The accuracy of one system is discussed, and some possible improvements are proposed. (a).
