BUS DEREGULATION AND PRIVATISATION: AN INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE. CHAPTER 2. BRITISH EXPERIENCE WITH DEREGULATION OF LOCAL BUS SERVICES

The broad national effects of deregulation upon the British local bus services is described in this paper. Specific examples are taken from a current case study in the maidstone area, the Lincolnshire and South Humberside area (which provides notable examples of municipal versus National Bus Company competition, and the use of taxibus provisions), and studies of intensive urban minibus operations. For the covering abstract of the book see IRRD 826280.
