THE EINDHOVEN TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION REGION. TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT POLICY BETWEEN RURAL AND URBAN AREA, TO AN INTEGRAL APPROACH ON REGIONAL LEVEL. TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COLLOQUIUM 1989, THE HAGUE, NOVEMBER 30 - DECEMBER 1, 1989. VOLUME I
VERVOERREGIO EINDHOVEN
The explosive growth of car traffic has negative consequences for the quality of the environment and the accessibility of urban centres. The problems of mobility are particularly bad in and around urban centres. A united approach to this issue by civil authorities, public transport corporations, trade and industry is neccessary. That's why the province of North brabant has taken the initiative by planning traffic and transportation regions in North brabant. The first traffic and transportation region has begun in the urban centre of Eindhoven. This paper contains an explanation of the meaning of the concept of a traffic and transportation region and the method of providing one in the region of Eindhoven. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 825702.
