STRUCTURAL CONNECTIONS. STABILITY AND STRENGTH. CHAPTER 3. SEMI-RIGID COMPOSITE JOINTS

This article reviews all known studies on the behaviour analysis and design of semi-rigid composite joints made of steel and concrete. The characteristics of the behaviour of semi-rigid composite joints under both monotonic and cyclic loading are described and the key factors affecting joint response identified. Approaches to the prediction of the joint moment-rotation curves either by full numerical analysis or simplified models are also discussed, and an appraisal of the problems related to frame design presented. Topical areas requiring further investigation are also presented. For the covering abstract of the book see IRRD 824259.
