THE DEVELOPMENT AND EFFECT OF TRAFFIC ENGINEERING IN CHINA. ACADEMIC CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION ON ROAD TRANSPORT, BEIJING, CHINA, 7-12 MAY 1989
The overall static investigation of road conditions in China was resumed in the 1970's along with the setting up of the traffic survey stations for all national highways. There are about 300 consecutive traffic survey stations and about 6000 intermittent stations on the national highways all over the country so far. The good results obtained from the comprehensive treatment of traffic for accident prevention and control are presented, as are the problems which are still to be solved in China. (TRRL)
