BONDING--A SYSTEMS INTEGRATION APPROACH. 1989 RAPID TRANSIT CONFERENCE OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC TRANSIT ASSOCIATION HELD IN PITTSBURGH
This paper reviews the requirements for transit systems bonding from a systems integration perspective. When a bond permanently joins two metallic parts, it also links two systems. Understanding the implications of these important interfaces is critical to the effective design and operation of an electrified transit system. Understanding the bonding functions offers advantages: reduced capital expenditure, safer installations, minimized operating costs, increased life expectancy for facilities.
