RAIL TAXI COMPLETES TRAVELLING BY TRAIN . CONFERENCE PAPERS ON THE WORKING DAYS ON TRAFFIC ENGINEERING 1989
RAILTAXI MAAKT VERVOER PER TREIN COMPLEET
"Railtaxi" is a model for a local demand-responsive transportation system feeding the railway network. Attributes are sale per seat and automated dispatching with a voice response system. The concept and two traffic probability models are presented. The first, mathematical, model describes the relationship between the quality of service, the seating capacity, and the mean traffic demand. The second, stochastic model, describes the relationship between the quality of service, the maximum permitted trip duration, the mean traffic demand, the number of vehicles and the size of the area of operation.
