REINFORCEMENT AT ASPHALT-GRANULAR BASE INTERFACE
Application of reinforcement in road pavement structures can extend pavement life or reduce thickness of paving materials. To quantify the effect of reinforcement at the asphalt-granular base interface, a test program was initiated to evaluate the metallic reinforcing material mesh track s. One of the objectives of the test program was to investigate the beneficial effect of reinforcement on the critical asphalt strains and surface rut depth.(a)
