BRIDGES ON THE LUPOGLAV-BORUT-CEROVLJE ROAD

MOSTOVI NA CESTI LUPOGLAV-BORUT-CEROVLJE

The article describes the design and construction of bridges on the Lupoglav-Borut-Cerovlje road. The same construction method, i.e. precast prestressed concrete beams with partially cast in situ slab has been used for the construction of six viaducts, the largest among them being 480 m long. It describes in detail the choice of a structural system and the one proposed in 1982, i.e. precast prestressed u-beams joined with partially cast in situ reinforced concrete slab, forming a twin box girder. Two novelties were used for the construction of a bridge deck: partial prestressing and omission of the cross beams, even above supports. The article also contains essential data on all six viaducts and material quantities related to the unit bridge area.
