JAPANESE COMMUNICATIONS DEVELOPMENTS AND THE AUSTRALIAN TRANSPORT LANDUSE SYSTEM: THE MISSING LINK
Attention is focused on communications developments to bring out their likely effects on cities and regions of the future. Initially, interest is centred on the second technological revolution in Japanese cities and regions and the way in which it has been packaged for export to southeast Asia. Then the contours of the third technological revolution in Japanese cities and regions based on computerised telecommunications are mapped before discussing the anticipated impact of exporting prepackaged satellite cities and regions to the western Pacific rim, particularly Australia (a).
