TRANSPORT AND THE MANAGEMENT OF FIRMS
IL TRASPORTO NELLA GESTIONE DELLE AZIENDE
In order to determine the position occupied by the transport dimension in management, a survey was carried out on a selected sample of firms classified into two types: the small to medium industrial firm within a context of local economy; and the third party firm, considered within the various urban and interurban contexts in which it operates. This latter group gives rise to two types of transport demand; the provision of small goods and services, and the transport of persons. The problems of accessibility for clients and dependents are common to both groups. The aim of the survey was to improve knowledge of the transport demand as expressed by the economic dependents, so as to better understand the management structures developed to organize the transport dimension of the firm's activities.
