MOTORWAY A14. THE UPGRADING OF THE ADRIATIC CORRIDOR IN THE MARCHE REGION

AUTOSTRADA A14. IL POTENZIAMENTO DEL CARRIDOIO ADRIATICO NEL TRATTO MARCHIGIANO

This paper synthesises the results of a feasibility study of the adriatic corridor, by means of illustrations showing the major intervention lines derived from the study analyses. Recent proposals to solve the traffic problems of the marche region are defined within the context of an integrated project designed to achieve the following objectives: improvements to state road ss 16 by means of bypasses and road widening; improving the accessibility of the a14 motorway in relation to the main road network of the region, giving priority to the transverse roads linking the corridor with the internal appennine areas (building new motorway junctions and improving old ones); rationalizing the interconnection of the a14 with the gran sasso tunnel within the framework of a more general reorganization of the national motorway network.
