A NATIONAL STUDY OF WHITE ATTITUDES TOWARDS THE DESEGREGATION OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT

A national survey of white South Africans was undertaken to determine their attitudes towards the desegregation of public transport. The study found that there is considerable resistance to multiracial public transport services among whites, particularly africaans speaking whites. Attitudes towards desegregation will be strongly related to the quality of service provided. (Author/TRRL)
