PRESTRESSED CONTINUOUS COMPOSITE BRIDGES UNDER DYNAMIC LOAD
This is an examination of the structural response of 2-equal-span continuous composite bridges with prestressed concrete deck slab over the negative moment region when subjected to static, dynamic, and fatigue loadings. Comparisons are made between the 2 models of such bridges, one having a prestressed deck slab and the other with a reinforced deck slab. The dynamic strain variations due to repeated load applied at resonance frequency are determined for various components such as prestressing steel, steel girders, and shear stud connectors. The paper develops a theoretical solution for the dynamic response.
