MBTA REHABILITATES CENTURY - OLD SUBWAY SYSTEM
The article briefly describes the rehabilitation of the Masssachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's tracks and signals. Work was scheduled for off hours when it included removal and replacement of two 39-foot track panels. After installation, the tracks were checked for proper surface and alignment. In addition, traction bonding and supplemental negative return systems were furnished and installed as part of the track renewal support effort. The project was completed in 5 years.
