THE DESIGN OF EXHIBITIONS ON ROAD SAFETY

Exhibitions have been used as a means for publicizing road safety and this report describes some TRRL research on them. Various options for choosing and displaying material have been evaluated and the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches are shown and discussed. It is concluded that although the numbers reached by exhibitions are small compared with mass media the numbers can be quite large compared with other types of local road safety activities. Their potential advantage lies in the relatively long time that the audience is involved when compared to most other methods. (A) /TRRL/
