FUEL ON WHEELS
Clark County, Washington's Maintenance and Operation Division, when faced with new state and federal regulations on groundwater contamination which required the upgrading of its fueling sites or the installation of expensive leakage monitoring equipment, chose a completely different approach: a fueling truck to bypass the antiquated fueling stations entirely and deliver the fuel directly to the equipment that needed it. When no vehicle on the market met Clark County's specific needs, county personnel designed their own. The fueling truck, which will match or surpass any such state-of-the-art equipment available on the open market, is described in this article.
