OPERATION GREEN LIGHT: A PLAN FOR REDUCING TRAFFIC CONGESTION IN NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS
Task forces were formed to develop the major program components of Operation Green Light, a comprehensive, coordinated plan to reduce regional traffic congestion in northeastern Illinois. The task forces have identified issues and problems and developed projects and recommendations. This article presents a status report of the work accomplished by the task forces and provides highlights from reports prepared by two of the groups: the Transit/Highway Initiatives Task Force and the Roadway Operations Task Force.
