TDP PROGRAM MANUAL. TRANSIT PLANNING FOR IOWA'S REGIONS AND SMALL URBAN AREAS
The Transit Development Planning Program (TDP) for Iowa's Regional and Small Urban Areas is designed to promote transit planning programs that further the development of the state's public transportation systems. The Iowa Department of Transportation directs the program with financial assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Urban Mass Transportation Administration and local sources provided by participating planning agencies. This manual is intended to provide Transit Planners/Operators with a "how-to" reference guide. It consists of the Introduction, Section I, which includes a general discussion of the program; Section II which describes the Transit Development Plan process; Guidelines for preparing a TDP in Section III; Section IV which discusses instructions for completing TDP forms; Section V which describes the steps necessary to prepare the application for TDP program funding; Section VI, which presents procedures for requesting funding reimbursements and preparation of Quarterly Progress Reports.
