COMMUTING IN THE BRENTWOOD AREA. A REPORT ON COMMUTING PATTERNS AND TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES
The purpose of the report is to provide business, community leaders and local elected officials with information on traffic congestion and to also suggest ways to deal with it. Section 1 recommends a variety of transportation demand management strategies based on the results of the Employee Travel Needs Survey. Section 2, 3 and 4 discuss land use, population and employment trends and future highway and street capacity. Section 5 presents study findings on commuting patterns and employee travel perceptions in the Brentwood area. Section 6 discusses the potential for specific future alternative commute modes and transportation demand management (TDM) incentives.
