TELECOMMUNICATIE SCENARIO'S VOOR VERKEER EN VERVOER

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible consequences of the future use of telecommunication on traffic and transport. The study has two future dates namely the year 2000 and the year 2025, and is limited to the Netherlands. In the study the consequences are reasoned out and calculated for traffic and transport by applying telecommunication with regards to substitution of movements as well as the generation of new movements. The study is a part of a research project in which the traffic and transport effects resulting from this study are translated into energy and environmental effects. The results of the study are presented in mutations, as well as regards the vehicle miles and the number of movements for personal and freight transport. (Author/TRRL)
