VIBRATION OF THICK PLATES ON THREE-DIMENSIONAL MULTILAYERED SOIL. PROCEEDINGS OF THE SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NUMERICAL METHODS IN GEOMECHANICS, 11-15 APRIL 1988, INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA. VOLUMES 1 - 3
The paper deals with vibration of thick plates interacting with three-dimensional multilayered soil. A simple semi-analytical finite element model for a plate-soil system is used. The total number of unknowns per plate-soil finite element mode is equal to six. It allows analysis of large three-dimensional problems of dynamic plate-layered soil interaction. Numerical examples show the influence of various factors which influence the vibration of thick plates on layered soil. (TRRL)
