NUMERICAL-ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUE OF OPTIMIZING THE LAYOUT OF PARALLEL TUNNELS IN SEISMIC REGIONS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NUMERICAL METHODS IN GEOMECHANICS, 11-15 APRIL 1988, INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA. VOLUMES 1 - 3

The technique of establishing optimum distances between an arbitrary number of different size parallel tunnels erected in seismic regions is offered in the report presented. Conditions were summed up. Average stresses from static loads seismic effects of earthquakes in each pillar do not exceed ultimate limits of rock upon a uniaxial compression and a uniaxial strain is assumed to be the criterion of optimization.
