A method of analysis for polymer grid reinforced soil structures, which is capable of taking into account the displacement dependence property of the pull-out resistance of the polymer grid in soils, is proposed. The soil-polymer grid interaction is modelled by combining the joint element expressing the property of discontinuous plane with the truss element transmitting the axial force only. Application of the method to the analysis of retaining wall with polymer grid reinforced soil backfill is described. (Author/TRRL)
