THREE-DIMENSIONAL FINITE ELEMENT COLLAPSE ANALYSIS FOR FOUNDATIONS AND SLOPES USING DYNAMIC RELAXATION. PROCEEDINGS OF THE SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NUMERICAL METHODS IN GEOMECHANICS, 11-15 APRIL 1988, INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA. VOLUMES 1 - 3
A numerical procedure for prediction of the collapse loads of soil structure is presented. Use was made of dynamic relaxation with a one-point integration of linear isoparametric elements. The constitutive model used was the elastic, perfectly plastic Mohr-Coulomb model. Three-dimensional elasto-plastic problems such as surface footings and slopes were analysed and collapse loads were obtained for soil in which the difference between the angle of internal friction and the angle of dilatancy exceeds 30 degrees.
