FEMALE DRIVERS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS. WOMEN, ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND TRAFFIC - PROCEEDINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP, STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, 29-30 SEPTEMBER, 1988

From 1985 to 1987 169 cases of people arrested on suspicion of drugged driving were registered in the catchment area of the department of forensic medicina at duesseldorf university. The collective includes 40 men and 29 women. Age, main blood alcohol content (BAC) and specifity of drugs were similar. Consumption of illicit drugs was detected rarely in female drivers. The reasons of the small percentages of female cases and the problems of assessment of dwi (driving while intoxicated) drivers are discussed. (TRRL)
