THE DESIGN OF BITUMINOUS CONCRETE PAVEMENTS DURING CONSTRUCTION. WORKING DAYS ON ROAD ENGINEERING 1988: PART 1: FLOW I DESIGN - MAINTENANCE - MANAGEMENT, CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS, EDE, NETHERLANDS, 26-27 MAY 1988
ONTWERP ASFALTBETONVERHARDINGEN BIJ AANLEG
The paper describes the following aspects of the design method for new pavements within the road and hydraulic engineering division of rijkswaterstaat: the starting-points in relation to the strength of the construction (material properties); the load (the number of equivalent axle load cycles taking into account the growth etc); and the safety factors to be used, which define the thickness and composition of the construction.
