PEDESTRIAN CONTROL AT SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Technical Committee 4A-15, consisting of 17 practicing traffic engineers from throughout the United States, prepared and sent a questionnaire to solicit the ideas and experiences of city, county, and state traffic engineers concerning pedestrian timing and control equipment at signalized intersections. This article presents the study procedure, survey results and observations, and committee recommendations.
