NEW LIGHT RAIL IN LONDON REJUVENATES THAMES AREA
Innovative changes to London's Docklands Light Railway have revitalized the area bringing some 600 businesses employing 10,000 extra people and increasing ridership. Detailed is this surface rail system which is a steel-wheel-on-steel-rail, segregated system, consisting of changes to engineering design, construction, vehicles and an implementation methodology using an innovative approach which is breaking new ground in the transit industry.
