The American Red Cross, Pioneer Valley Chapter's docu-drama tool to teach high school juniors and seniors and college students about the tragic consequences of drinking and driving is described. The program was developed by the Indiana County, Pennsylvania, Chapter of the Red Cross. Students participate in acting an hypothetical crash scene, while fellow students file past. This is followed by witnessing the police, ambulance and fire rescue equipment and personnel arrive in a predetermined sequence. The preparation for the program involves training of the students who will participate. The program is considered successful: since its use, there has not been an alcohol-related accident at prom, graduation or football time at any of the schools which have experienced the presentation.
